Intentional, engaged, focused, caring;
“She turned her can’t into cans and her dreams into plans.”
“Here’s to intentional women: may we know them, may we raised them, may we be them!”
Colossians 2:10 – “And in Christ you have been brought to fullness.”
Gracefulness, kindness and temperance guide her speech. A chosen perspective of joy lights up her eyes. Whenever someone interacts with Tracey they leave feeling cared for; they leave feeling at peace. “As long as I have known Tracey, she has always been constant, reliable, true,” one of her friends stated when Tracey was nominated for the Spring ‘17 Project. And that is exactly the case.
Tracey carries a level-head on her shoulders, an awareness of what is needed to be done, of who people are, of how they interact. This understanding helps her bring about change, helps her reach into the heart of each person. This attitude bleeds into her work, and greatly benefits her passion.
She has been a dancer since she was a young girl. Now, she runs her own dancing company. It is her utmost goal to finds ways to encourage and uplift the young dancers under her tutelage. She pours into them, helping them to see the big picture. Through patience and love, Tracey is able to demonstrate that life isn’t about having all victories, but instead it’s about taking everything in stride and using every part to better yourself.
This knowledge comes from her walk with the Lord. She understands that she has made some wrong choices, didn’t take advantage of some things while she could, but the Lord has shown her that he is able to make everything within her life work towards the good. Tracey rests in this knowledge. And in turn, teaches it to others. A teacher that makes a difficult lesson accomplishable, as well as fruitful, is a teacher you remember. The Lord was that for Tracey, and now Tracey is that for others.
Determined, steadfast, persevering, unwavering;
“She was unstoppable, not because she did not have failures or doubts, but because she continued on despite them” Beau Taplin.
Psalm 46:5 – “God is within her, she will not fail.”
When you meet Crystal, the first thing you notice is her smile. Bright and beautiful, her grin lights up her whole face. It is apparent she carries no doubt; she is where she is supposed to be, always. Though she claims to be shy, she is not. Easy with a laugh, she glides in and out of conversation emphatically – thankful to be embracing each day.
Goal driven, obstacle oriented, there seems to be very little that stands in her way. She has made up her mind to overcome the helplessness she felt as a child. Her relationship with God, now, is as sturdy and dependable as one could ever be.
She remembers knowing who He was even when she was little; even though she didn’t truly know who He was. Sensitive to the Holy Spirit, she knew right from wrong, despite how she grew up. Crystal knew, deep within, that she was meant for something more. Eternity and purpose echoed in her soul. She refused to let this secret longing go.
Grace is upon her lips when she speaks of her past and about how those, who were supposed to protect her, didn’t. Forgiveness, a difficult battle many Christ-followers struggle with, is something Crystal has embraced. And her freedom rings from every fiber of her being.
With the help of Christ, she has redeemed herself from the place she was born into. She looks forward, towards the horizon, her brow adorned with confidence and excitement, her hope from the realization that the Lord has carried her this far, certainly He will carry her farther still. Crystal knows who she is, whom she is, and refuses to stop moving forward. Her journey far from over, the Lord delights in the steadfastness of His daughter and says, “Well done my good and faithful servant.”
Beautiful, Captivating, Charming, Exquisite;
“A beautiful woman uses her lips for truth, her voice for kindness, her ears for compassion, her hands for charity and her heart for love. And for those who do not like her, she uses prayer.”
Song of Solomon 4:7 – “You are altogether beautiful, my darling, beautiful in every way.”
If Ashley is anything she is abstract, a moving puzzle piece; connecting the dots of her present to those of her past. Hyper-aware of her Lord and Savior, she is constantly constructing, detail by detail, the plan of God’s miraculous, marvelous hand moving throughout her life. Longing to know more of Him, to experience ultimate freedom through His presence, she seeks to hear His voice in all things. Everyday life is her mission field. She will have nothing less.
Embracing her femininity, she carries herself proudly in the knowledge that the Lord has crafted her exactly as she is supposed to be and she will not be apologetic. From childhood she was told she was either too much or too little, always at odds with what was expected of her. Through walking out forgiveness, with help from the Lord, she has let go of the hurtful statements from her youth. This forgiveness has opened more areas for healing and she stands today confident in her feminine and abstract beauty.
She longs for others to embrace the freedom she has found. Hopping between analytical and creative, she has a way of connecting with intellectuals on a faith based worldview. Purposeful with her decisions, she understands that her actions will always carry affects on others. Prayerful – thoughtful – Ashley sees the world through many different colored lenses, but her love for the Lord is to see it all as beauty.
Marked, Noticeable, Striking, Defined;
“Sometimes you gotta get knocked down lower than you have ever been, to stand up taller than you ever were before.”
Philippians 4:6-8 – “Don’t worry about anything, instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need and thank Him for all He has done.”
Glenisha is someone who can stand her ground. Resilient, she stands tall looking life square in the eye. She is determined to carry herself in such a way that no one may doubt her, her ability, or her faith.
Early life carried a lot of instability for Glenisha. Bad living situation after bad living situation never seemed to end.
There were times when she was homeless and she didn’t know where to go next. But God was ready to intervene. He always provided a place for Glenisha to stay either through a friend or someone mentioning a place. She refused to stay where wrongful living occurred.
The Lord took care of Glenisha; always keeping her safe. She found that He was completely worthy of her trust because He has never let her down. An never ending joy bubbles from Glenisha’s spirit because of this! She laughs easily and doesn’t take her life, now, for granted. She works hard; thankful that the Lord has blessed her so.
Enduring difficult things, facing uncertainty and constant instability, she has rested in the faithfulness of God; refining her life in the gentle beauty of peace. Set apart, she has been placed on this Earth to remind others the goodness of the Father. She stands regal, relaxing in the knowledge that she is royalty and cared for by the King. This I know, Glenisha will go far by trusting God to complete her story.
Strong, Tenacious, Enduring, Unyielding;
“She wasn’t looking for a knight, she was looking for a sword.”
Joshua 1:9 – “Be strong. Be brave. Be fearless. You are never alone.”
Maggie, a powerful hit in such a surprising package. Hers is a story long and involved; it is about being pursued by a love she did not want, even though it was a love she knew she needed.
Honest, she will tell you exactly how she sees it. An open book, you ask she will answer. However, though she may count this characteristic as a fault, it is quite the opposite. Her honesty springs from the well of a deeply understood forgiveness, something a person possesses when their eyes have been open to how God continued to beckon them even when they rejected Him at every turn.
Declaring herself atheist by the age of 14, the road before her became dark as she got involved in the party scene. With drugs and alcohol, she found herself involved with people she knew were no good for her. Yet, she stayed. It was so much easier to continue on her current path than to accept the love the Father was offering. Until one day, she finally did.
God helped her through the painful experience of detox and alcohol withdrawal and she now stands on the opposite side completely free! The joy of freedom hangs to her continually. Her eyes sparkle with excitement. And there exists within her an iron-clad will to never go back to the life she led. Armed with His word, His wisdom, His love, she treads forward creating a life of fulfillment on God alone.
Becoming, Blooming, Stunning, Winsome;
“There is no competition among wild women. They are too free to be caught in a tiny space of envy. Instead they dance together and let good flow abundantly through them.”
Psalm 143:8 – “Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love.”
Whitney is like the gentle breeze that whispers through the trees at the birth of spring. Gentleness is her crown, meekness her signet ring. Very few women balance quiet and strength as well as Whitney. When she speaks, you must quiet yourself to hear what she has to say. Equal parts encouragement and truth, her goal is to make everyone around her feel the best they can.
Her love of the Lord is the most resolute I have come across. Fired and tested, it blazes with golden reflection of the love that passes between her and her Savior.
She is loved by Jesus and nothing else matters. Nothing.
Whitney is a woman who understands obeying the Lord is life’s true and most joyful goal. She radiates with His love, drawing others to the warmth of His embrace.
She has traveled the world, proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus everywhere she went – fulfilling the Great Commission. She encountered personal obstacles and learned how to work with brothers and sisters as a successful team. It was not easy, but neither is our call. She has made decisions she wishes could have been different, but she purposes to reject regret; abounding and thriving in God’s ever present grace.
Her nature sweet, her smile beautiful, her eyes full of conviction and love for every person she meets – Whitney is one of those unique people that cause unimaginable change. Not because everyone knows her name, but because her genuine love for the Father causes her to touch more lives than we can imagine. Faith, love and boldness follow Whitney wherever the Lord takes her.
Unique, Rare, Unmatched, Extraordinary
“I have always loved the idea of not being what people expect of me.”
”Insist on yourself, never imitate” -Ralph Waldo Emerson.
I Corinthians 15:10 – “By the grace of God, I am what I am.”
LaTasha’s spirit is something so uniquely rare. A combination of laughter, grit, and resilience, she shines outward towards life, seeing each day as an opportunity to better herself and the lives of others.
Nurturing her deep desire to be a teacher she continually works towards her goal, resolutely determined to finish every assignment handed to her, to love and help flourish each young life that comes into her sphere of influence, to devote her life to people who are not yet ready to face the world alone.
Her steadfastness blossoms from the rocky place of her childhood. Unwanted and often unloved, she understands the deep rejection that comes from being labeled as unimportant. She eventually reached that place where if no one intervened, she would have taken her own life. And there, she ran smack dab into God’s miraculous love.
Stirring someone to pick up the phone, God used a woman in LaTasha’s life to keep her from ending it. Through this woman, God reminded LaTasha of the purpose she has had since conception. This miracle is something you don’t easily forget.
Her life has not been smooth sailing since that moment, but there now exists a resilience in her soul. She holds firm to the knowledge that she is here for a purpose. She is already fulfilling it.
A beacon, she stands in the gap for others. Her laugh is open to all who long for friendship and a place to belong. Her vision is big, but she has seen the Lord work miracles in her life. She knows He will take care of all the details. Her gaze continually locked on Jesus, LaTasha will accomplish much.
